Why do you need fluids?
- Deliver necessary nutrients to your cells.
- Escort waste out of the body.
- Lubricate joints.
- Help avoid constipation.
- Provide structure.
- Maintain body temperature through sweet and heat conduction.
- Helps maintain the body's pH.
- Softens skin and adds moisture to tissues.
- Keeps blood pressure and the heart functioning correctly.
You're losing water all the time through sweating, breathing, and digestion. Rehydrate regularly to keep your body running smoothly. As a general rule, half your weight in ounces is a great goal for water intake.
Tip: Keep a large water bottle or gallon sized jug with you and mark the times that you should hit your water goals. It's a constant reminder to drink your water!
