Hydrate Daily

How much water do you get each day? A good rule of thumb is to drink half your weight in ounces. This could be water, tea, or other non-sugary or caffeinated beverages.

Why do you need fluids?

  • Deliver necessary nutrients to your cells.
  • Escort waste out of the body.
  • Lubricate joints.
  • Help avoid constipation.
  • Provide structure.
  • Maintain body temperature through sweet and heat conduction.
  • Helps maintain the body's pH.
  • Softens skin and adds moisture to tissues.
  • Keeps blood pressure and the heart functioning correctly.

You're losing water all the time through sweating, breathing, and digestion. Rehydrate regularly to keep your body running smoothly. As a general rule, half your weight in ounces is a great goal for water intake.

Tip: Keep a large water bottle or gallon sized jug with you and mark the times that you should hit your water goals. It's a constant reminder to drink your water!
