Recipe: Fat Bombs

The days of fearing fat are over! In fact, a lot of us are needing MORE! Need to get some good fats in your diet for a boost of energy, better skin and hair, or to support your toilet habits? Try these:

Dark Chocolate Fat Bomb
By Diana

  • 1 stick real unsalted butter
  • 1 cup whole extra virgin coconut oil
  • 1 bar (or 1/2 bar if you don't want so much chocolate) of 100% unsweetened cocoa
  • enough sweetener to equal about about 1/2 cup of sugar (I use 1/4 cup erythritol, and 1/4 cup xylitol, with a few drops of sucralose liquid--which is kind of like splenda only in liquid form, the brand I really, really like is called NuSweet and you can get it on Amazon).

Put it all in a pan and melt on very low heat, stirring to disolve any sweetener granules. Pour mixture on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick spray and lined with parchment paper or wax paper to keep it from sticking to the pan, or it will stick otherwise.

You could also use candy molds, or an ice cube tray or any kind of mold you like just spray it with non stick spray first.

Put it in the fridge to harden and store it in there too as it will melt at room temperature. When it's hard break or cut off what you want to eat. YUM.

Now, I also like to add in things too, such as chopped macadamia nuts or pecans or walnuts or almonds or unsweetened flaked coconut, or a mixture of those. I really like it crunchy. I sometimes add in raw cocoa nibs and instant coffee or espresso powder, or even some cinnamon or chili pepper (not Mexican style chili powder, but pure ground chile pepper) for a richer flavor.

And for fiber you can also add in hemp hearts or chia seeds. I don't have an exact recipe for the additives, but they're all yummy.
